How to think about donations on Kick

On Kick, viewers need a simple, credible path from the profile or live session to the donation page. The link must be visible and should not look like a random external short link.

Kick has a different channel discovery rhythm than Twitch, so the bio, socials, and overlay should use the same language. Viewers should not have to guess where to click.

P17 connects platform-specific setup with the OBS overlay so the donation path is visible both on the channel page and inside the stream.

Step 1: clean up the profile and link

Add the donation page link where viewers naturally inspect the profile. Kick help describes the bio, social media, and panels as parts of the channel page.

Use short text: `Support the stream`, `PLN donations`, or the goal name. Avoid several competing CTAs next to each other.

Open the profile on desktop and phone. Confirm the link is visible without a long search and that it opens the ready donation page.

Step 2: add the overlay in OBS

Add a donation goal or alert as a Browser Source in OBS, set the size, and test it on the scene you use for Kick. Do not assume the Twitch layout transfers one-to-one.

For fast games, keep the overlay smaller and higher contrast. For talk or IRL formats, you can allow more text because the scene has less motion.

Before going live, test the full chain: profile click, donation page visit, test checkout, and alert or goal update in the overlay.

What to measure after publishing P17

Measure `source_post_id=P17`, `kick-profile` intent clicks, donation-page visits, and overlay activation after the test action.

Separate profile traffic from stream-description traffic. If the profile has low CTR, the issue may be link visibility rather than the donation page.

In the report, state whether the profile link, overlay CTA, or verbal prompt performs best. That decides where to invest the next test.
